Behind the Times
June 29, 2009
I am reading an awesome book right now. John Connolly’s The Book of Lost Things is an interesting take on the popular theme of a world in which reality and fairy tales collide.
As I was turning a page, I found myself imagining what a movie adaptation of the book would be like. I popped on the interweb and, low and behold, a movie version is already en route. Due out in 2009.
I would say I have a knack for recognizing when a book has movie potential, but all my insight bubbles up years after the book’s actual release. However, I am not discouraged. Nope. My fingers are still crossed for a Spellman Family film.
What about a new fantasy flick? What fan wouldn’t be excited for a screen version for Jacqueline Carey’s Kushiel’s Legacy or Santa Olivia?
Although, screen adaptations sometimes bomb. Hmm…don’t know how I feel about that prospect.
