At The End of Every Week
Everyone has different means of celebrating the end of the week. Some people hit the clubs, some people down a few pints of beer, and others just curl up with a movie. No matter what happened during the week, everyone deserves a few hours of escape.
This weekend, I had my share of escaping. Pizza, movies, books. But today, I took a long walk. Just me and my tunes. Nothing can beat a few hours of chill exercise and music.
Here is a song to commemorate the end of one weekend and the yearning for the next.
At the end of every week,
Each one of us becomes a freak.
Tonight the DJ makes us move,
As the sweat drops from the roof.

The Music in My Headphones
When I put on my headphones I block out the world. I turn on music and click up the volume. Then I close my eyes, I fade into the music and I leave behind the sounds that I do not want to hear. I push aside the thoughts that I am afraid to confront. With the touch of a button, the click of a mouse, I escape into who I want to be.
With the right song, I feel like I am another person. Beats and vocals seep into my bones and shake me free of my inhibitions. Pulsing rhythms entice me to walk with confidence— to strut forward despite doubts. Music has the potential to create the mood that gives me the guts to step out and let my hair down. With the right vibe, I can let my true self out without a second thought.
No matter what bullshit life sends, I always find a playlist to give me the enthusiasm to keep moving forward and thinking positively.
At this point in time, my life is pretty cherry but I just feel blah— like I am stuck in a rut. So, my current playlist is filled with bubble gum electronic music. The tunes have levity that, though generic, can make anyone let go and dance. Currently Cascada is playing though my headphones.
Forget the fact that most of the Cascada songs sound exactly the same. Almost every track has the ability to brighten my mood because of its energy. So put on your headphones, turn up the volume, and let that bubble gum sound get you popping!
