Home Sweet Studio
A sweet breath of fresh ocean air. Home from the land of enchantment and, to celebrate, I spent some quality time in San Fran. One short drive + a longer BART trip = lost in a sea of anonymity. Besides the music and booze, the biggest perk of big city life is the option to float along anonymously whenever you choose.
Unlike the small town where everyone knows my name, I can shop and daydream through the San Fran streets without running into any nosey, Chatty Cathys . Yes, I would rather meander with my cutie, but alone time does not scare me. I can waste more time trying on clothes that I would probably never buy.
Aside from the clothes, I used the BART ride to jam to some tunes. This particular ride was set to the beats of Armin van Buuren. Ah, Armin. I choose these trance tunes in anticipation of next weekend’s LoveFest. For those of you who do not know about LoveFest, it is a day of free electronic music, crazy get-ups, mostly to completely naked people (predominantly old men and breasty young women) and dancing.
Super!? Well, once you look past the occasional glimpse of wrinkly old man wang, it is great. Though I am not hardcore enough (aka into busting out the dinero to go alone) to hit the bigger names at the after party, the free daytime music party will make even the most stiff and boring hipster shake his/her booty.

Black and White Movie Fun
Back home for a while, where the internet is still tied-down and the poor old puppy’s skin problems seem to get worse. I am here for a few weeks. Awesome. Me and the dog in my childhood home, minus mom’s home cooking. Ah well, I will live.
Now that the travel goo has been washed off and my dog is asleep, I am in the midst of enjoying my third rum and coke while enjoying a movie.*P.S. I have been nursing this rum on and off since one, maybe two, Christmases ago because my parents do not really drink it.*
So, here is where this story is going. The TV at my parent’s house is new… and awesome. But, for some reason, DVDs are in black and white. Damn. Flash back. I feel like I am living in the slow lane. The TV is black and white, there is no dryer, the internet is tied to cords only, and the front door lock is super hard to open. Good ‘ol small town.
In honor of the forced black and white viewing of DVDs, I am sharing with you all a wonderful movie: Death at a Funeral. The movie is funny but in a way that most of you are not used to; some of the comedy is straight forward and some of it is less forward. None the less, the flick is hilarious. If you watch it in black and white you can make it feel like a classic. Hell, most films watched in black and white can feel like old school goodness.
